Narragansett Bay Quilters' Association ____________
Lois Palmer, Appraiser of Antique, Contemporary & Art Quilts Why should you get your quilt appraised? If you have a fire in your home, without a written appraisal, you will only receive the price of an everyday blanket for your damaged quilt. With all the time and expense invested in a new quilt, they are much more valuable that we sometimes think. If your quilt has received a ribbon or has been machine quilted by an award winning or published long arm quilter, the value has increased. If you will be shipping a quilt to a show or as a gift, you might consider a written appraisal to confirm insurance value if lost or stolen. Family heirloom and antique quilts may have much more value than we know- it is a good idea to have a written record to pass down through the generations. A written appraisal includes any information that you have along with the expert dating and technique knowledge that Lois Palmer, certified Quilt Appraiser has gained in her years of experience, making it an extensive document for future reference. ____________
